Building First Step Quickness

by | Aug 30, 2024 | Uncategorized

In baseball, speed kills! At RK Strength Training, we help build speed. When Grayson Byrd, son of former Atlanta Brave Paul Byrd, and I spoke regarding his off-season training regimen, he wanted to build more first-step quickness. As a minor league Chicago Cubs player, the organization wanted him to improve his first-step quickness and lateral speed. Having trained Grayson for 6 years, I know that lateral speed means more range on the field. Improving his first-step quickness means more stolen bases, which increases his value.

The strategy for improving his first step quickness and lateral movement is training to improve his mobility, strength, and speed training. A focused training regimen in these areas will enable Grayson to achieve his goals of improving for the upcoming baseball season. The mobility training will enhance his lateral quickness, and the strength and speed training will enhance his first-step quickness. As a Performance Enhancement Specialist, Ronnie Kenyatta can improve athleticism and maximize an athlete’s potential.

We work with middle school, high school, and college-bound baseball players seeking a faster 60-yard sprint time and more power behind their swings.  At RK Strength Training, Ronnie Kenyatta is a Performance Enhancement Specialist who helps baseball players develop the quickness and strength to improve their overall speed and quickness.  Call us today at 404-242-1362, email us at admin@rkstrengthtraining.com, or click here to book a free consultation. We look forward to working with you.
